Annie Ernaux, who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2022 for her life’s work, talks about her new translation Tapaus, which is a gestural and perceptive description of illegal abortion in the 1960s. The powerful work, translated into Finnish by Lotta Toivanen, describes a great social phenomenon through the story of an individual. Ernaux is interviewed by writer-journalist Pihla Hintikka.
